Time, an illusion or a fixed construct? Man made or just man named? Discuss. I will pipe in with my views.
From The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkein
Chapter: Riddles in the dark.
"This thing all things devours
birds, beasts, trees, flowers
gnaws iron, bites steel
grinds hard stone to meal
slays kings, ruins towns
beats tall mountain down"
Man-named fixed construct. According to me, that is. The concept of time is obviously existent, as in, not something we created, just something we've described and found means to measure. Being a student of science (albeit a poor one), I'm not inclined to think of Time as an illusion. Soo... (Pausing for varying opinions.) :)
